Silver and Tooth Colored Fillings
Fillings are excellent treatments for cavities, which are essentially holes in the tooth created bacteria. For this treatment, decayed tooth is removed and the hole left behind is filled with your choice of a strong silver material, or an esthetic tooth colored material called composite to restore your tooth.
Crowns & Bridges
If you have a damaged, broken, or weakened tooth, a crown can be customized to protect and make a tooth strong again. A crown functions as a durable cap that covers the tooth, and can be made of a variety of different materials from long-lasting gold, all the way to the most esthetic porcelain. Crowns can also be linked together ro replace missing teeth, which we call a bridge. Crowns and bridges still require home care just like a natural tooth, and it is recommended to keep up your dental visits to ensure a long-lasting restoration.
Tooth Extractions
There are many times when removing a diseased tooth is the best option for a fresh start or a replacement. At Mangilao Dental Clinic, Dr. Clegg offers skilled yet gentle, pain-free extractions as well as options for the space once your gums have healed from the treatment. We also can remove wisdom teeth, which can often cause problems in both young and old age.
Root Canal Therapy
At Mangilao Dental Clinic, we offer gentle root canal therapy that is an excellent option to save infected teeth and get you out of pain. Root canals are often misunderstood, but in reality they are an effective treatment for when a tooth’s nerve is affected from decay or from trauma. It saves you from otherwise needing to remove the tooth! With modern local anesthesia, we make sure you feel absolutely no discomfort during your root canal, as painless as getting a filling done. It is often far better to have root canal treatment than it is to live with the symptoms of a throbbing toothache, sensitivity, and pain when chewing. If you suspect infection, call or visit us and see Dr. Clegg to help assess the situation.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nervous about an upcoming dental procedure? Nitrous is also known as “laughing gas”, and is a safe, effective method to help keep you relaxed without any major side effects, and wears off quickly. It can also help with gag reflexes, anxiety, injections, and keep you comfortable during a longer procedure. Nitrous is often recommended for children especially to help keep them behaved and relaxed during treatment.
